Bibles for America first began mobile distribution in April 2001 with the acquisition of a motor home that traveled to towns and cities in southern California, Nevada, and Arizona. The motor home crew and volunteers from each city visited college campuses, shopping centers, and other public places to pass out literature offering our free New Testament Recovery Version and to distribute the New Testament. After that initial outing, more tours have taken place to cover various parts of the country.

In response to the tragedy of September 11, 2001, we sent our motor home and crew on a sixty-day, cross-country “Word of Truth USA” tour from October to December 2001. The response was astonishing! From Irvine, California to New York City and back, we handed out thousands of Recovery Versions!

In 2002 and 2003, we conducted six distribution tours:

• Salt Lake City Tour during the 2002 Winter Olympic Games from February 8-24, 2002
  

• Southwest Tour through Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas from April 25 to May 6, 2002
  

• Northwest Tour in Washington state from May 13 to June 1, 2002
  

• Northern States Tour from Washington state to New York from August 6 to September 4, 2002
  

• Eastern States Tour from Maine to Florida from September 4 to December 20, 2002
  

• Military Tour to distribute Recovery Version New Testaments to military personnel and families from May to July 2003

Bibles for America now has four motor homes used by crew members and volunteers to spread the New Testament Recovery Version throughout the country. Motor home tours are conducted year-round in different regions of the country, though tour reports are no longer posted on our Internet Web site.
