We
were not sure whether we could be on the USU campus today, but we
eventually did receive permission this morning to go and set up
our tables again.
A young man came to the table and told us he was an agnostic, formerly
with the LDS. Now he is “nothing.” He wanted a Recovery Version
New Testament so he could compare it with other versions. It seemed
he wanted something more.
Two professors who had received Bibles yesterday came to the table
again. One spent a half an hour talking with us about the Recovery
Version, Bibles, and the New Testament.
Another professor who had received the Recovery Version came to
the table. We told him we would like his commentary once he gets
a chance to respond. He said, “My commentary is that I like your
Bible.”
We
met a dear Christian student here at USU. Last night she introduced
the Recovery Version New Testament to the Bible study she attends.
They read Ephesians and Romans 3 and appreciated the footnotes there.
She took to heart our encouragement that anyone in her Bible study
can get a free copy. She is becoming a herald on behalf of the New
Testament Recovery Version on that campus where she knows so many
people.
Today we had thirteen volunteers with us. We passed out two hundred
Bibles during the four-hour period on the campus. That is an average
of 50 Bibles an hour, which is about one Bible a minute.
In six days, we have distributed 952 Bibles. Of these, 529 (56%
of the total) are in the hands of students at Utah State University.
The overall atmosphere at that university is very receptive.
Several people told us that they would be coming to the Olympics
and would like to visit our motor home there.
Praying for His Word to run and be glorified,
