Report Day 17: Sunday, February 24, 2002

This morning we gathered in Roseburg, Oregon, to worship the Lord around His table with singing, praising, and praying. It was a wonderful, refreshing time of fellowship. Afterward, we departed and began the eight-hour drive to Sacramento, California, with ten of us in three vehicles.

  • We took a break at a truck stop in Ashland (in southern Oregon) where we had an appointment to meet three BfA volunteers. We prayed with them, shared our experiences on this tour with them, and handed out brochures and Bibles for about half an hour. We left BfA literature with them to pass out in the Ashland/Medford area.
  • At one point on our journey, we found ourselves traveling amid a group of motorcycles. The bikers had seen BfA’s motor home and two vans drive by. After they read the BfA slogan (“A Bible You Can Understand”) on the sides of the vehicles, the group gave us “thumbs up” and waved at us as we drove by.
  • When stopped to eat lunch and fill up our gas tanks, we met a group of Canadians traveling by van who were also getting gas. All of them received Bibles from us.

At various truck stops, we met a variety of people, including some who were from Bakersfield, California and Alaska. In total, we handed out 60 of BfA’s free offer brochures and 20 Bibles on our journey into Sacramento.

Refreshed by the Lord,
The "Salt Lake City Tour" Crew
