Report Day 11: Monday, February 18, 2002

Here are some stories from our time today:

  • A young man came to the table asking, "Is this where I can get a free bible?" As he quickly filled out a request card, we told him he could tell his friends they could get one also. He said, "That's how I heard about it. My friend showed me his Bible, and I asked him how I could get one for myself. That's why I'm here."
  • A man took a brochure. The man with him said, "That's the Bible we've been using." He got his copy when BfA came to campus, and he has been using it since.
  • One volunteer gave out 30 Bibles and spoke to a good number who said that they would order it by mail or on the Internet.
  • We showed a man the outline and a footnote of Mathew, and he was captivated. We also showed him the chart in the back of the Recovery Version on the seventy weeks and the coming of Christ with the rapture of the saints. He declared, "I want one." His daughter had been listening to our conversation, and she wanted one also.
  • A group of people was listening to us while they were eating lunch nearby. They asked questions and got Bibles. More of their friends arrived who also got Bibles.
  • A fellow believer came to us saying, "I found you!" Last night he came to the motor home, but none of us were there. He came out this morning specifically to find us. He had heard a news report on the radio about BfA and that's how he knew we were still in town.
  • We met a man who is a camp director of camps working with inner city kids. He requested offer cards for his supervisors, so we gave him 100 cards.
