Spring Motor Home Tour
After two months of travel and distribution, the Bibles for America (BfA) Spring Motor Home Tour concluded on May 1. The motor home crew—composed of volunteers from Washington, California, Oklahoma, and Missouri—traveled to North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. A total of 9,289 free copies of the New Testament Recovery Version were given away at 29 venues.

For the first time ever, the motor home journeyed to West Virginia and distributed Bibles at five venues there—the two campuses of West Virginia University in Morgantown and Parkersburg, West Virginia State University, University of Charleston, and a retail establishment in Charleston.

The Spring Motor Home Tour also included two visits to Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. On April 12, just four days before the shootings occurred at Virginia Tech, motor home crew members and local volunteers were on the campus distributing free Bibles and Bible-offer brochures. In four hours, they distributed 193 Bibles.

Following the shootings, we had a desire to return there to conduct additional Bible distributions. After much prayer and many phone calls by BfA were made, a student organization agreed to sponsor BfA, and we were granted permission for another campus visit.

On May 1, the last day of the Spring Motor Home Tour and one of the last days of the school semester, BfA volunteers from Virginia, North Carolina, and California joined the crew of eight for a second visit to Virginia Tech. There were fewer students on campus because many had left school for the semester. Nevertheless, 396 copies of the New Testament Recovery Version were given away.

Spring Fair
Puyallup, Washington
From April 19-22, volunteers in the Pacific Northwest participated in the distribution of free Bibles at the annual Puyallup Spring Fair. A total of 925 Bibles were distributed.

L.A. Times Festival of Books
University of California in Los Angeles
On April 28 and 29, volunteers in Southern California hosted a Bibles for America booth at the L.A. Times Festival of Books. A total of 1,298 Bibles were distributed over the weekend.

BfA Cable Access Program
BfA has developed a 30-minute program called "The BfA Story" that is available to cable access channels nationwide. The program gives an overview of BfA's history and mission and includes a special feature of BfA's Bible distribution in New York City two months after September 11, 2001.

Upcoming Seminars for Bible Recipients
June 2—Garden City, Kansas—Garden City Plaza Inn (Library Room)

June 10 and June 24—Tustin, California—Tustin Meadows (West Clubhouse)

These informal seminars are a wonderful way to learn more about the New Testament Recovery Version and meet and fellowship with others who enjoy God’s Word. For more information about these seminars or to inquire about similar gatherings in your area, please send an e-mail to info@biblesforamerica.org.

Please Remember in Prayer
Pray that each person who received a Bible during the Spring Motor Home Tour, Puyallup Fair, and L.A. Times Festival of Books would be the good earth for the seed of the word to be sown into (Mark 4:20). Also pray that many students, faculty, and staff members at Virginia Tech, in the midst of their sorrow, would find the peace of God in His Word.

Pray that the free Bible seminars in Garden City, Kansas, and Tustin, California, will help people get the most out of their reading and study of the Bible.

From Bible and Literature Recipients:
“Thank you for sending me the literature. Reading this literature has helped me in a big way. I have been saved since 1989, and I never understood the matter of the security of salvation until now.”—Beaumont, Texas

“The study Bible is very good and so are the study books [in the free literature series]. Thanks. I'm a pastor and this has helped me. I would like more literature for my people.”—Gibsonton, Florida

“It is so easy to study with these books [in the free literature series]. I enjoy them very much.”—Twisp, Washington
