Report Day 52: Friday, 12/07/2001

003 Friday, December 7, 2001 - We left Dallas, Texas this morning after prayer with the volunteers here. We prayed for those we met these past two days to be gained by God for the building up of the Body of Christ.

005We drove into Denton, Texas at eleven o'clock and met with volunteers there to pray and fellowship together. We then split into two teams to go to two local universities: Texas Women's University (TWU) and the University of North Texas (UNT). We spent forty-five minutes on each campus before heading for Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Here are some highlights from each university today:

TEXAS WOMEN'S UNIVERSITY
We met a student from Greece who is a reader of the Bible. We looked up Romans 10:12 with her and its footnote: "This shows that God selects us, redeems us, justifies us, sanctifies us, conforms us, and glorifies us in Christ in order that we may enjoy His unsearchable riches in Christ (Eph. 3:8). The secret to this enjoyment is to call on His name." After she read the footnote, she decided she wanted a Recovery Version New Testament. She's going back to Greece with her Recovery Version New Testament.

As we were leaving the campus, a young girl ran up to us hoping to get a brochure. She was so anxious just to get a brochure. Her friend had gotten one and told her to get one. Since she was so eager to find us, we decided to give her our last Recovery Version. She was beaming-the perfect person to get it!

At TWU we gave away 60 gift packs, 340 brochures, and 24 Bibles.

UNIVERSITY OF NORTH TEXAS
We met a woman who worked at a local Christian radio station. She had heard of the Recovery Version before and was happy to get one.

A Bible study leader asked a crew member to speak abut the New Testament Recovery Version to his group on campus of about ten students. The group leader is a BfA volunteer and had heard that the BfA "Word of Truth USA" tour was coming to the University. After we gave them a fifteen-minute presentation, the students all asked if they could get a Recovery Version New Testament. We gave each of them one, and we also gave them brochures for their family and friends.

A young man at the University was listening to the University Wind Ensemble when we offered him a free New Testament. He said, "No thanks. I'm an agnostic." We replied, "You might like to have one so you can understand what you don't believe in. It may come in handy in the future for your point of view." He said, "Thank you. I'll take it."

On the UNT campus we distributed a total of 700 pieces of literature, including 15 Bibles.

For both campuses we distributed 1,124 pieces of literature. Hallelujah! God can do a lot in forty-five minutes when His people cooperate with Him.

In Christ,
The "Word of Truth USA" Crew
