Report Day 44: Thursday, 11/29/2001

Thursday, Novemer 29, 2001 - We gathered again in Atlanta this morning at nine o'clock with about twenty-five local volunteers. We prayed concerning the throne of God, the preeminence of Christ, and specifically concerning the students and people we would meet today at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).

On the Georgia Tech campus many people were willing to hear the word of the Lord. Many came to the table to get their Bibles with their BfA card already filled out.

  • One young man wanted to compare the Recovery Version New Testament with a Bible he had. After he looked it over, he was eager to get his own.
  • A young man said that he didn't want a Bible since he was an atheist. A volunteer told him, "I was an atheist. Isn't everyone at first? And you know, I was once on a plane that almost crashed, and everyone on that plane, including the atheists, were all calling out to God when they thought that was it!" After he heard this, the young man went immediately to the table to get a Bible.
  • One young woman told us that it was great we were there but that we really should go to Winder, Georgia! We told her that we were there yesterday and had put offers for a free New Testament Recovery Version on the doors of many homes. She was so happy to hear this. We felt this was a confirmation of the Lord's leading us to go to Winder yesterday.
  • One woman was so excited to see BfA on campus. She lit up with gratitude when one of the volunteers went with her to her office to offer the free New Testament to two of her coworkers. When we gave her the BfA two-year reading schedule, she started figuring out where she would be in the Word at different times throughout the year. She was filled with anticipation to begin right away on her new reading schedule.
  • An unbeliever wanted a Bible, and after we showed him Romans 10:8-13 with the footnotes, he prayed with us to receive Lord Jesus. He left with Christ within and a Recovery Version Bible without.

Today at Georgia Tech we gave away 441 Bibles, 2,561 pieces of BfA literature, and 32 people on campus wanted to hear from us again. The Lord subdued what kept people from stopping and penetrated many apprehensive hearts by our showing people the footnotes in the Recovery Version.

Worshipping Christ on the throne,
