| Wednesday, November 28, 2001 - We gathered here in Atlanta this morning with local volunteers around eight o'clock for prayer, fellowship, and planning. We prayed for the Lord to revive us and to revive the people of this country according to His word in Habakkuk 3:2: "O Jehovah, revive Your work in the midst of the years." We prayed for the Lord to revive many people, both saved and unsaved.
The other group, the rest of the tour crew and thirty volunteers, went to the University of Georgia at Athens. We set up our motor home, cargo van, and another vehicle in a prime location next to the campus. The local volunteers had secured this location through the police department. Before we could spread out to distribute our literature or set up our tables properly, curious college students and townspeople swarmed us. The students seemed more eager to talk with us about the Bible than at some other universities. Here are some highlights from today:
We had one deeply saddening experience today. We offered a man a brochure who first said, "No, thank you," then turned around saying, "Maybe I'd better take that." We told him he could get a Bible right away at our table. He seemed dazed as he walked away, but he headed to the table as a volunteer at the table prayed, "Lord, send him over here." He came to the table and the volunteer saw he was wearing a Search and Rescue shirt. She told him that she was an EMT who specialized in Search and Rescue and that she had prayed last night with a group of Christians for the Lord to search out many hearts today and rescue them from every situation. With that he broke down and began to cry and told us that his brother was killed yesterday by a drunken driver. He said that his brother was a hero since he died pushing a young mother and her six-month old baby out of the path of that car. The volunteer began praying for his family (especially his brother's wife and three young children). Everyone at the table joined this flow of compassionate prayer for him. We cried with him and for him. Our hearts felt his deep pain as we were greatly moved by the compassion of Christ. Giving him a Bible was a great comfort to us, and we are sure it was to him also. His family will be in our prayers. It was another Christ-filled day for us. We gave away 153 Bibles. Many hearts were searched (including our own), and many people received the only Word that could rescue them, the Holy Bible. Thanking
Him who sought us and rescued us,
