Report Day 30: Thursday, 11/15/2001

Thursday, November 15, 2001 - Today we had an early start in Newington, Connecticut. We gathered at the BfA vehicles at seven thirty this morning to drive to Central Connecticut State University. Our hope was to greet the students as they arrived for their first class. In the one hour we were there, we distributed over 700 pieces of literature offering the free New Testament Recovery Version.

At nine o'clock we left for Providence, Rhode Island, where we split into two teams. One team went to Brown University and the other to downtown Providence. As we have in other places, we met many interested people here who gladly received our offer. This continues to show us that there is a hidden hunger in the hearts of Americans for the truth, which is God Himself.

We met a man in his forties who recently began a ministry to the homeless. He told us that he has studied the Bible for the last twenty years and has been studying the matter of the human heart. He felt he was nearing a breakthrough once he saw the relationship between the prophecy of the new covenant in Jeremiah 31 and its quotation in Hebrews 8. As we listened to him speak, we were rejoicing--this day the Lord would bless his twenty years of seeking the truth by his obtaining of a copy of the Recovery Version. Our prayer is that God would fully open his eyes to Christ's new testament ministry.

Today we passed out nearly 4,000 pieces of literature and 106 New Testaments. In the evening, we were encouraged to hear from the Bibles for America office that many calls had already come in from the Newington and Providence areas. Lord, may the spread of the truth bring in the dawning of the final day!

Spreading the truth by His grace,
The "Word of Truth USA" Crew
