Tuesday,
November 13, 2001 - We began our day by gathering to pray for our final
opportunity here in New York City. We prayed over Acts 20:32 which says,
"Now I commit you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able
to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who have
been sanctified." We then had fellowship about where we were going
for today's activities. We decided that one team would go to Ground Zero,
another to Union Square, and a third to Rockefeller Center.
We
made our trip into downtown in good time and drove to Union Square to
look for a place to park. Because of a construction project in the area,
we were able to find a very good location near the subway entrance there.
We set up our distribution table offering a free New Testament Recovery
Version and immediately attracted a crowd of people. Many people struck
up conversations with BfA volunteers to find out about our offer and the
special features of the Recovery Version New Testament. It is most enjoyable
to see the delight people experience when the light of the truth breaks
upon them. Many commented that they appreciated the mission of Bibles
for America and encouraged us to "keep up the good work."
At Union square we gave away over 200 New Testaments and over 4,000 pieces
of literature. We passed out today a total of 644 Bibles and over 8,000
offers. Since the caravan left Irvine, California on October 17, we have
passed out over 110,000 offers and 2,500 Bibles.
Today we witnessed again that a significant percentage of the population
is looking for the truth. God's desire that all men would come to the
full knowledge of the truth (1 Tim. 2:4) is being matched by man's hunger
for the truth. We thank and praise the Lord for His sovereign wisdom in
preparing the Recovery Version New Testament and the hearts of so many
hungry seekers at this time.
This day concludes our visit to New York City. We thank the Lord for
giving us some time here. We pray that the Lord would richly bless those
we met and bring them into the depths of His Word. May He continue to
pour out His mercy and grace on all who are seeking Him.
To
Him who is able to do superabundantly above all that we ask or think,
The "Word of Truth USA" Crew
