Wednesday,
November 7, 2001 - Ephesians 6:15 says, And
having shod your feet with the firm foundation of the gospel of peace.
As we gathered together this morning with several Philadelphia volunteers,
we used this verse for our prayer as a good start for the day. This was
in anticipation of the Lords blessing on our labor at the University
of Pennsylvania and Temple University in Philadelphia.
While
some of us went with the minivan and cargo van to the University of Pennsylvania,
the rest of us drove the motor home to Temple University. Sixteen volunteers
joined us for the distribution on both campuses. After four hours on each
campus, we passed out a total 11,116 offers for a free New Testament Recovery
Version (RcV) and gave away 326 Bibles.
We thank the Lord that a good number of U Penn students received the
offer for a free RcV. We are so happy that soon this treasure will be
in their hands.
The
students response was even greater at Temple University, where we
gave away most of the free Bibles. In preparation for our visit to Temple,
some volunteers had secured a reserved parking space for the motor home
near student housing. However, when we got there, we found that the space
was already occupied. A volunteer then contacted the parking police who
graciously allowed us to park directly in front of the Student Centerone
of the highest traffic areas on the campus. It was here that we met a
continuous flow of students who were very eager to receive our gift. We
praise the Lord for His provision, strategically locating us on campus
to bring us so many seekers for the truth.
At three oclock we left the campuses and converged at a volunteer's
home, all rejoicing in the blessings the Lord bestowed on us today.
In the evening we gave an audiovisual presentation of the mission of
Bibles for America to more volunteers in the Philadelphia area.
In
everything giving thanks,
The Word of Truth USA Crew
