Report Day 21: Tuesday, 11/6/2001

Day 21, Tuesday, 11/6/01 - We left Columbus, Ohio yesterday, traveled into Pennsylvania, and drove into Pittsburgh last night. Our day began at eight thirty this morning with prayer and fellowship with several supporters. Together we were inspired by the word in Acts 1:8 that says, "But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Footnote 3 says that witnesses are martyrs, "those who bear a living testimony of the resurrected and ascended Christ in life. . . . In His ascension He would carry out His ministry in the heavens through these martyrs, in His resurrection life and with His ascension power and authority, . . . to spread Himself as the development of the kingdom of God." We pray that we would be Christ's living testimony wherever we go.

After our time of fellowship, we went to two nearby campuses, Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh. For an hour and a half at both campuses, we passed out 4,668 offers for a free New Testament Recovery Version and gave away 82 Bibles. The supporters who joined us in this labor greatly encouraged us.

Occasionally we had the opportunity to show people the outstanding feature of the Recovery Version New Testament—the footnotes. One woman we spoke with had been studying the book of Hebrews with other Christians. She marveled at the footnote in Hebrews 10:11 and wanted a Recovery Version on the spot.

The Lord's provision was again evident in many ways. For instance, a young student leader of an Asian Christian club offered to sponsor BfA. We later needed this sponsorship to comply with administration rules of distribution on the campus.

Around noon we left Pittsburgh and headed for Philadelphia. We were filled with thanks to the Lord for again opening the door of so many hearts to receive the offer for a New Testament.

At six o'clock this evening we pulled into Philadelphia, where another group of eager volunteers greeted us. We enjoyed dinner together and spent an hour preparing material for tomorrow's activities.

It has taken us twenty-one glorious days to travel from the West Coast to the East Coast, and we rejoice that the Lord has preserved us in His grace and blessed us in many ways. Most of all, we thank Him for allowing us to distribute over 54,000 offers, so far, for a free New Testament Recovery Version.

Rejoicing in Him,
The "Word of Truth USA" Crew
