Monday, November 5, 2001 - This morning the BfA motorcade, joined by ten
supporters, returned to the Ohio State campus to meet students on a regular
school day. From ten o'clock until one o'clock we spread out to various
locations near the Student Union building. The Ohio State University is
a large and sprawling campus with over 55,000 students. There was a steady
stream of students for the three hours we were there, and as at other
campuses, we found the student body very receptive to our offer. We passed
out over 4,000 offers for free Bibles and gave away 137 New Testament
Recovery Versions.
Here are some highlights of today:
- After
he received a free Bible, one student prayed, "Lord, bless every
one of these brochures. Bless this campus with these Bibles."
- Another
student was so impressed with the New Testament that he said, "I
want to get twenty for my youth pastor."
- A young
couple, after receiving an offer for a New Testament Recovery Version,
came to the motor home to pray for a relative who was being diagnosed
at the Ohio State University medical clinic. We prayed together and
then had a very enjoyable time discussing the Recovery Version. They
both received theirs on the spot. We also gave them a copy for their
relative to read, especially during his time with the doctors. The couple
said they were happy to have met us and left in peace.
The apostle Paul exhorts us in 2 Timothy 4:2, "Proclaim the word;
be ready in season and out of season." Footnote 3 says that in season
and out of season means "opportunely or inopportunely, whether the
opportunity is convenient or inconvenient, whether you are welcome or
unwelcome."
Proclaiming the word by His Spirit in us,
