Wednesday, October 31, 2001 - We continued our tour across the United States, leaving Des Moines, Iowa around eight o'clock in the morning, driving east to Iowa City. There, we met up with some volunteers for fellowship and planning. A short while later, we parked at the University of Iowa campus and spent the next hour there. Almost all those we met were extremely open to our literature. While several of us were distributing hundreds of BfA brochures to students in front of the Student Union, other team members were busy giving free Bibles to students we directed to our van parked nearby. During the brief time we were there, we passed out literature to almost 3,000 students and gave 38 students a free Recovery Version New Testament on the spot. How we thank the Lord that a substantial amount of material was made available to so many students in such a short time. After our fruitful time in Iowa City, we traveled on through Iowa and into Illinois, pulling into Palatine to the home of some BfA volunteers in the afternoon. (Palatine is a suburb one hour west of Chicago.) After they fed us a delicious dinner, we attended a meeting for the area BfA volunteers and presented an audiovisual program about our "Word of Truth USA" tour. All eleven of us shared different aspects of the trip, including our own experiences along the way. During our time of fellowship, we realized anew the Lord's desire to bring all men to the full knowledge of the truth. The Lord first spoke His Word to men who recorded it. After His Word was recorded, it needed to be translated from the original Hebrew and Greek languages into modern languages. But it is crucial that the translated Word be properly interpreted. For example, Acts 8 shows us that the Ethiopian eunuch needed Philip to guide him in his understanding of the Old Testament passage from Isaiah concerning Christ (vv. 30-31). After the interpreted word is understood, it must be spread to all the peoples of the earth. We are so happy to be able to spread the interpreted Word of God in the New Testament Recovery Version to all the people of America. We strongly believe that the Lord's Word will not return to Him in vain but that it will accomplish what He delights in and will prosper in the matter to which He has sent it (Isaiah 55:11). From Illinois and in Christ,
