Report Day 7: Tuesday, 10/23/2001

Tuesday, October 23 2001 - We left Salt Lake City at 8:50 A.M. bound for Denver. While refueling at a gas station, we talked with two high school girls who, upon seeing our BfA cargo van, declared to us boldly, "God is great!" We presented them with our literature offering a free New Testament Recovery Version. We explained to them how easy it is to read this version and then showed them an actual copy. While we read to them the footnote from John 12:24, one of the girls exclaimed to her friend, "Wow, you can actually understand it!"

Frustrations on our trip are ever present, and we are in need of constant prayer for the Lord's protection. Today we encountered strong winds on the trip from Salt Lake City to Denver, especially through southern Wyoming where sustained gusts of sixty miles per hour winds buffeted our vehicles. At one point the strong winds dislodged the metal awning supports on the outside of the motor home, causing the attached canvas to flap wildly in the wind. When we pulled off the highway, it took all nine of us to secure the canvas awning, roll it up, and attach the metal side struts back onto the motor home—all in gusting winds and driving rain. We had to stop two more times along the way to secure the awnings again on both sides of the motor home. We thank the Lord that there was no damage to either the motor home or the awnings.

At 8:05 P.M. we gratefully pulled into Denver where BfA volunteers welcomed us and gave us a delicious dinner.

Hiding in Christ,
The "Word of Truth USA" Crew
