Monday,
October 22, 2001 - We left Elko, Nevada at eight o'clock this morning. After
a four-hour drive through Nevada, we arrived in Salt Lake City where we
joined up with a BfA volunteer for lunch at a restaurant.
Our next stop in Salt Lake City was the University of Utah, a campus with an enrollment of 25,000 students. In three hours, using four teams of two crew members, we distributed gospel literature and about 470 of BfA's new college brochures offering free New Testament Recovery Versions.
Later another team ran into the same couple and asked if they had received a brochure offering a free New Testament. Right away the girl replied, "Yes, and I already called to order my copy," and her boyfriend attested, "She really did." On another occasion, two graduate students at the Salt Lake City Theological Seminary drove by the motor home and saw the banners on our vehicle. They stopped to inquire what we were doing. When they saw the footnotes in the Recovery Version New Testament, their eyes lit up and they wanted one. We gave each of them one. One requested further contact with us. Overall, we were very encouraged at the favorable response from so many students. Giving
thanks to God,
