Sunday, October 21,
2001 - We began this day by meeting with fellow believers in Sacramento
at nine thirty in the morning. After briefly fellowshipping concerning the
Lord's charge for the "Word of Truth USA" tour, the three-vehicle
caravan departed for Roseville. We arrived a little after eleven o'clock,
and were privileged to join a good number of BfA volunteers in their gospel
outreach. We were promptly divided into eighteen teams of three to five
people each and sent off to the Citrus Heights area near Roseville. There
we distributed door-hangers offering a free Recovery Version New Testament
from house-to-house. One thousand four hundred and thirty doors later, we
returned to Roseville for lunch and fellowship with all the volunteers there.
They sent us off at two o'clock after a time of prayer, and we began the
long journey to Salt Lake City.
Along the way we have been receiving a number of donations to help support the tour. What an encouragement this has been to us! It reminds us of Third John 8, "We therefore ought to support such ones that we may become fellow workers in the truth." Footnote 1 in the New Testament Recovery Version says, "We, the believers, including the apostle, ought to support and undertake for the needs of the brothers who work for God in His divine truth and who take nothing from the Gentiles." This means that to give financially to the Lord's work is to participate in that work and all of its benefits. We believe the Lord will surely benefit all who participate in the "Word of Truth USA" tour, by their financial donations or in any other way.
Your fellow workers in the truth,
