Report Day 4: Saturday, 10/20/2001

Saturday, October 20, 2001 - This morning at eight thirty, our entire team met with a group of volunteers in San Francisco for breakfast, prayer, and fellowship. During that time, one of the staff members from BfA's main office in Irvine, California shared a brief inspirational word about BfA's mission and goals. How wonderful it is to be distributing a Bible that can be understood to the people of the United States at this crucial time!

What our brother shared stirred our spirits. He reiterated the value of the New Testament Recovery Version (RcV) as the gift of gifts that everyone needs today. It is evident that the world situation today is providing an atmosphere that opens people to receive God's Word.

005Furthermore, among God's people today, some are poised and ready to cooperate with Him to distribute His Word. Those who have benefited from the extensive help the RcV offers have a responsibility to make this great gift available to others. BfA is not a campaign or a movement, but the move of God to fill this country with the deeper truths in the Bible. The word of the truth is the gospel of salvation (Eph. 1:13). First, we need to pray. That means we acknowledge that we are not-but that God is, and that we cannot—but He can. Then we need to labor.

Our fellowship became even more encouraging when we were informed that last night seventy volunteers in San Francisco of all ages, from children to seniors, folded 15,000 BfA door-hangers (offering a free RcV).

After being inspired and encouraged from the morning's fellowship, the local volunteers went out to several San Francisco neighborhoods and distributed BfA door-hangers to over 15,000 homes. Our caravan of three vehicles left for the Marina Green area of downtown San Francisco and arrived at noon. We promptly set up our literature distribution tables. While some manned the tables, others talked to passers by. Several of the local volunteers also joined us for part of the afternoon after returning from dispersing door-hangers.

Following a picnic lunch we prayed together and were blessed and sent off to our next destination—Sacramento. At a quarter to six in the afternoon the caravan arrived in Sacramento where we were greeted and served dinner. At seven thirty that evening we presented the mission and charge of BfA to a group of junior high and high school students. Afterward we treated them to a quick tour of the motor home.

We thank the Lord for another glorious day on the road and the continuing privilege of offering free Bibles to the people in the Bay Area and Sacramento.
