The motor home crew drove to Warrensburg,
Missouri today. Four volunteers from Joplin (about three hours from
Warrensburg) in addition to 12 others joined the crew for most of
the distribution time. From ten o’clock until two in the afternoon
we distributed 220 Recovery Version New Testaments and an additional
twelve specially marked military Bibles.
- We met many Bible study leaders and Sunday school teachers who
were interested in using the Recovery Version in their classes.
- We read Luke 4:18 (“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me,
because He has anointed Me to announce the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery
of sight to the blind, to send away in release those who are oppressed”)
and its footnote with someone to which he said, “Wow, this
is rich. Thank you for what you are doing!”
- Once again, we had difficulty packing up to leave because people
kept approaching us to request Bibles. A woman and her daughter
drove up and said, “Do you have any Bibles left? I’d
like to buy one!
- We had just packed away all of the items when a woman walked
by, saw what we had, and exclaimed, “I need this. We are
having some family problems.” We pulled two more Bibles
out of the box for this woman and her sister.
