Thursday, May 29, 2003—Wichita, Kansas

As we were preparing to leave Stillwater, Oklahoma this morning, we met a Spanish-speaking man and invited him into the motor home. We read Romans 10:9-13 with him and prayed with him to receive the Lord Jesus. He called on the Lord’s name with us in Spanish (Rom. 10:13). Then we started on our drive to Wichita, rejoicing that this man had opened his heart to receive the Lord Jesus Christ and a Spanish New Testament Recovery Version!

We went to a Wal-Mart in Wichita where we gave away 71 Recovery Version New Testaments and about 700 gift offer brochures. When we started the distribution, it seemed to us that we were facing a lot of rejection, so most of us went into the motor home to pray while two volunteers manned the display tables outside. After a while, we noticed that both tables were busy with people requesting Bibles! Many store employees had come to the table after finishing their shift at three o’clock.

Before we left the parking lot, a mother and her teenage daughter knocked on the motor home door. The daughter wanted a Bible, and later told us that she was looking into different religions. We encouraged her to honestly talk to the Lord Jesus about how she feels and to pray for Him to unveil His Word to her before she reads the Bible. We also gave her a gospel tract called “The Mystery of Human Life.” She seemed very happy to have met us and we prayed that she would open her heart to the Lord tonight.
