From eleven until three o’clock,
we parked our motor home and set up a display table in the parking
lot of a K-Mart store. We were not allowed to approach people with
the gift offer, but the Lord brought two people to us:
A
man drove up to the table to find out about us. He said that one
of his favorite verses was Philippians 3:10: “To know Him
and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings,
being conformed to His death,” so two volunteers shared
with him this verse’s footnote in the Recovery Version.
He really wanted someone to pray with him to rededicate his life
to Christ. We also prayed with him regarding a difficult situation
he is passing through in his home life. He took a Bible and six
additional gift offer brochures for his wife and children.
A
Spanish-speaking woman walked up to the table and said that she
wanted a King James Version in Spanish. We told her that we only
have the Recovery Version and showed her a Spanish one. She read
John 6:18-21 aloud and after reading a few footnotes, she raised
her hand and said, “Glory to God!” She received a
Recovery Version and repeatedly blessed our work and us, praising
the Lord.
