Twenty-one volunteers from Fresno and
Tulare converged in Hanford, California for a second day of Bible
distribution at Wal-Mart.
While volunteers were manning the display table by the Bibles for
America motor home, a county sheriff drove up alongside our set-up
and parked his car. He asked us what we were doing. After we explained
our gift offer, he became very interested and filled out a request
card to receive a free Recovery Version New Testament. He took a
number of gift offer brochures to give to his son, who is involved
in a Bible study club. He said, “Praise the Lord” and
smiled as he left.
Two ladies drove up close to the BfA motor home and said that they
were interested in getting Bibles and also wanted to show the Recovery
Version to others in their Bible study groups. Our volunteer took
a few minutes to show them how to pray using the words of the Bible.
They were very excited about this way of reading the Word and thought
it would help them in their study of the Bible.
