Monday, May 5, 2003—Hanford, California
Today the motor home crew traveled from Fresno to Hanford, California where we visited the Wal-Mart nearest the Lemoore Naval Air Station. A volunteer who had been praying for the Bible distribution was so excited about the motor home visit to her town that she took the day off from work to join the Bibles for America crew. We handed out a total of 116 free Recovery Version New Testaments. Many people who received Bibles were very warm, thankful, and full of praise to the Lord.

  • We met a sailor assigned to one of the ten local squadrons of F/A-18 Hornet crews aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln that participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Both he and his mother, who was visiting from Georgia, received free New Testaments. We also gave him several BfA brochures offering free Bibles to give to others at the naval air station.
  • Some people drove their vehicles right up to the BfA display table to receive their free New Testaments. The requests for Bibles kept flowing in!

A prayer from a volunteer: “My wish for all the Bibles for America staff members is that the Lord would strengthen you into your inner man, and that He would continue to open the doors and the way so that you can continue forward with this project and that the seed of life would be sown into the heart of every man!”
