Monday, May 12, 2003—Memphis, Tennessee

Today we visited two Wal-Mart stores in the Memphis area. In Collierville, we gave away 213 Bibles, and at the Winchester store in Memphis, we gave away 183 Bibles.

A Wal-Mart store greeter who was wearing a shirt displaying a Bible verse visited our table several times to talk with us about the Recovery Version. She is also a street minister, so we gave her some gift offer brochures to hand out.

At the end of day, as we were packing up to leave, people continued to approach us to ask for Bibles. We were waiting for the motor home to arrive so we could load up our boxes when a lady and a daughter begged us for Bibles. She had seen us as she was entering the store, but was very sad that she had almost missed us. A volunteer dug into the box of supplies to find one last Bible to give to her.
