Sunday, May 11, 2003—Nashville, Tennessee

After having a Lord’s supper meeting with believers in Nashville, twenty volunteers, including some teenagers and two from Minneapolis, Minnesota, went to a K-Mart store in Nashville to distribute free Bibles and gift offer brochures. We gave away 299 Bibles!

  • A young man surveyed the materials on the display table for a few minutes before a volunteer noticed him and began to fellowship with him. He said that he was going to lead a Bible seminar for three hundred people next month and that the Lord had directed him to us to prepare him for that time. Our volunteer prayed together with him for the Lord’s blessing on the seminar. He left with a Recovery Version and 200 gift offer brochures to hand out.
  • A grandmother, mother, and granddaughter passed by the display table at the store exit. While others walked on, the grandmother paused to hear about the Recovery Version. She told us that she was not saved and did not know any verses in the Bible. We helped her to pray, which she did with tears, saying that she was full of sins. We shared John 1:12 with her: “But as many as received Him, to them He gave the authority to become children of God, to those who believe into His name.” She said that all her life she had wanted to confess her sins to God.
