Tennessee State University—172 Bibles distributed
The flow of students and university staff requesting free Bibles was fast moving and constant. Students were very open and receptive to the Recovery Version New Testament. We couldn’t give out the Bibles fast enough! We were busy from the time we arrived until we left. It was not uncommon for groups of people to stand together and to wait for the ones at the table to finish filling out request cards so that volunteers could show the next group the unique features of the Recovery Version. Some students were reading the Bible and hearing the gospel for the first time.

As we were packing up to leave, the university chaplain knocked on the motor home’s door and thanked us for coming onto their campus. He requested a free study Bible for himself and wanted to refer another university official to the free offer.

Many Bible recipients had Christian friends to whom they also wanted to give Bibles, so we began to give four or five extra gift offer cards with each free Bible.
